Current & Returning Student Scholarships for 2009-2010 Academic Year

The scholarships listed below are for currently enrolled Webster University students who will attend Webster as full-time students (13 or more hrs each semester) for the entire 2009-10 academic year. Scholarships are available for the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 semesters only and cannot be used for summer sessions.

The value and number of awards for each scholarship varies and is dependent on the availability of funds after the May 1st deadline. Scholarship recipients are selected based on award criteria as well as demonstrated financial need, and applicants who do not have a FAFSA on file in Webster’s financial aid office for the 2009-10 academic year by May 1 will not be considered. Individual award amounts typically range from $1,000 to $2,500, but do vary and are subject to change.

Gordon Forsyth Scholarship  

• Junior or Senior Status
• Any Major
• Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA required

Solon Summerfield   

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Status
• Any major
• Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA required
• Nonrenewable

Wm Randolph Hearst   

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Status
• Minority (African-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American)
• Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA required
• Renewable
       

Sr. Gabrial Hoare    

• Sophomore, Junior, Senior Status
• Art major, with priority consideration given to those pursuing Art Education
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required
• May or may not be renewable

Sr. Mary Mangan    

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Status
• History, Politics/Intl Relations, or Legal Studies Major
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required
• May or may not be renewable

W.U. Arts & Sciences    

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Status
• Enrolled in the School of Arts & Science, with priority consideration given to those interested in teaching.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required
• May or may not be renewable

Van Evera Scholarship 

• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Status
• Any Major
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required
• Nonrenewable

Boeing Corporation   

• Sophomore or Junior Status
• Female or Minority Male
• Enrolled in School of Business & Technology
• Applicants must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Value: $2,500

Nancy Anne Underwood  

• Junior or Senior Status
• Photography major in School of Communications
• Minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA required

David Huffman   

• Senior
• Theatre Arts
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

Shepard Jazz Scholarship  

• Sophomore-Junior-Senior
• Jazz Studies
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• *Recipients are selected by faculty members in the Department of Music.

TKT Scholarship   

• Junior-Senior
• Music Major
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• *Recipients are selected by faculty members in the Department of Music.

Scholarships for Study Abroad

Leif Sverdrup Study Abroad  Undergraduate students with a minimum of 30 hours completed at Webster University. Graduate students who have been advanced to candidacy within their degree program.

• Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA required
• For study at any Webster University  campus abroad.
