Master of Science in Nursing major sheetFew fields evolve as fast as healthcare where new interventions, technology, research and legislation change patient care on a daily basis. In many cases, an associate's or bachelor's degree is no longer enough to qualify nurses for management or educator positions. Today, public health organizations, research institutes, hospitals, colleges, and universities are recruiting nurses with advanced education to fill these key roles.

If you're eager to learn and apply the latest nursing theory and research in your practice, join your colleagues in pursuing a master of science in nursing (M.S.N.) at Webster University. You will choose a pathway that will prepare you to teach and develop the next generation of nurses or lead nurses in providing best nursing practices.

Specially designed for working professionals, Webster's part-time M.S.N. program provides the advanced theory, skills and nursing knowledge needed for growth in your current position or to embark on a new career in the dynamic field of nursing.

Tradition of excellence

Webster's nursing programs have provided nurses with the knowledge and foundation they need to advance in the healthcare industry since 1980. Additionally, more than 100 students have completed Webster's M.S.N. program, which was added in 1993.

As nursing expectations have changed, our program has evolved, too, to be on the cutting edge of the profession. With input from area educators, leaders, current students and alumni, Webster's M.S.N. program now offers two areas of emphasis within a family-centered nursing framework: nursing education and leadership.

Students who choose the nurse educator focus will learn instructional methods and curriculum designs for application in nurse educator or staff development roles.

The nurse leader focus provides the advanced knowledge necessary to manage and lead healthcare organizations through today's complex healthcare environment.

No matter which option you choose, Webster's M.S.N. will position you to be in the forefront of trends and shape the future of the profession.

Designed with you in mind

Courses in Webster's part-time M.S.N. program are scheduled in an eight-week format with convenient evening classes. You will be treated with the respect you deserve as a professional nurse. At the same time, we'll provide the personal attention and experiential instruction you need to remain competitive.

In addition to excellent instruction from our experienced faculty, intimate classroom settings of 10 to 15 students provide the perfect forum to share and compare current practices with classmates. Our courses are designed so that the content can be applied to practice, which attracts nurses in a variety of specialties from both metropolitan and rural healthcare institutions. This means you'll have an opportunity to build professional relationships that cut across geographical, cultural, and institutional boundaries.

Webster's nursing programs are accredited by the National League for Nursing, Accrediting Commission, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006, 212-363-5555.
