Webster Opens New Downtown St. Louis Campus in Old Post Office
Webster University has led the revitalization effort of the Downtown St. Louis central business corridor by committing to a 12 1/2 year lease in a fabulous facility at the Old Post Office. Dignitaries and other special guests were given a sneak preview of the Old Post Office campus at an open house on Dec. 1, 2005.

Dr. Richard Meyers, president of Webster University, welcomed the crowd of more than 200 people who anxiously waited to see the new campus in its final construction phase. About a month later, on Jan. 19, 2006, Meyers welcomed folks back to campus to see it complete and in full operation after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Old Post Office campus will continue to expand its evening undergraduate and graduate programs, according to Beth Russell, director. Daytime activities will also increase with the expansion of training and development opportunities for companies and corporations through the Center for Professional Development.

Other events will take place through continued partnerships with the Diversity Awareness Partnership, Literacy for the Investment in Tomorrow, the Webster Institute for Literacy and the World Affairs Council. “Webster University is celebrating 32 years in the downtown community and has again renewed its ongoing commitment to providing educational opportunities to its residents and employees,” says Russell. “We truly have embodied our mission to help the community live, work, play and learn in downtown St. Louis.”
