Located seven miles southeast of downtown Oklahoma City, Tinker AFB is the world's largest aircraft repair facility. Over 13,000 civilian and military personnel are assigned to Tinker.
In 1990, Webster University began offering classes at Tinker in "Management & Leadership" and "Information Technology Management". Our students include active duty Air Force, Navy, Guard, Reserves, DOD civilians & contractors, retired military and military dependents.
As a retired USAF officer and former AWACS crew member, I appreciate the difficulty of balancing a graduate program with work and family. Thus, my staff and faculty have attempted to craft our program to meet the needs of our military students assigned to units with a high TDY and deployment commitment. Some of those units at Tinker include the 552 Air Control Wing, 3rd Combat Communications Group, the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, 38 Electronic Installation Wing, and the Navy's Strategic Communications Wing.
The Tinker AFB Education Center is located in Building 201SE just east of the Air Control Wing area. We have 14 classrooms, a new computer lab, a video learning center, and an Internet access terminal in the Education Center computer lab.
Enrollment is open to active-duty/retired military, reserve/guard members, Department of Defense employees/contractors employed at Tinker AFB, and legal dependents of the aforementioned.
